US Secretary of State Marco Rubio Blames Left-Wing Movements for Rising Political Violence

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio sharply criticized left-wing movements worldwide, accusing them of being the main drivers behind the surge in political violence in the United States and other Western democracies. Speaking to an audience of diplomats and Western leaders, Rubio highlighted a "new wave" of unprecedented political violence, attributing a significant share to leftist groups. He cited statistics such as a 40 percent increase in far-left violence in Germany over the past year and that 80 percent of political violence in Greece is linked to far-left and anarchist groups.

Rubio detailed various violent incidents, including attacks on immigration officers, sniper shootings, bombings, armed ambushes, and a transgender shooter opening fire on Catholic elementary school students during prayer. He condemned the far-left for endorsing violence under ideological pretenses, stating, "They may call themselves liberals, anti-imperialists, communists, but ultimately they support violence to impose their ideology."

He urged Western leaders to recognize left-wing violence as a serious threat to stability and to change their approach toward it. Rubio's remarks reflect growing concerns in the US administration about political extremism and its impact on democratic societies.
