Israeli Tourist Claims She Was Denied Service at Athens Restaurant Due to Nationality

Anna Dushin, a new immigrant from Haifa, Israel, alleges she was refused service at Vinoir Bistro in central Athens on the night of July 13 after revealing her Israeli nationality. According to Dushin, she arrived alone around 10:30 p.m. and ordered a hookah. When a young employee asked her where she was from and she answered Israel, he reportedly told her, "No hookah for you," took the hookah away, and refused to serve her further. Dushin described feeling humiliated, scared, and upset, especially since she was alone and a woman. She left the restaurant immediately and returned home distressed. The incident highlights concerns about discrimination faced by Israeli tourists abroad.
