Tali Gottlieb Accuses Dan Illouz of Plotting Against Netanyahu Within Likud
Knesset member Tali Gottlieb sharply criticized Dan Illouz on Thursday following his announcement to leave the Likud party. Gottlieb claimed she had previously warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about Illouz and others planning to undermine him. She accused Illouz of lacking courage and faith, contrasting it with her own stance, and suggested he left Likud because he saw no future there.
Gottlieb detailed that Illouz, along with Yuli Edelstein and Yoav Galant, had met extensively with Yair Lapid after a political upheaval to orchestrate a move to depose Netanyahu by promoting Edelstein as a constructive prime minister candidate. She said she warned Netanyahu about this plot in real time and noted that those who conspired against the prime minister eventually ended their political careers within Likud.
In a pointed message to Illouz, Gottlieb advised him to enjoy media attention while it lasts, warning that his efforts to tarnish Likud would end quickly, citing Galant as an example. Separately, it was reported that Netanyahu canceled his planned trip to the United States, though no official reason was provided in this report.
