Zinedine Zidane Nears Appointment as France Coach with €300,000 Monthly Salary

Zinedine Zidane, the legendary former player and decorated coach, is close to being appointed as the head coach of the French national football team. This move follows France's failure to reach the World Cup final, with the team now set to compete for third place. According to RMC, the French Football Federation aims to finalize Zidane's contract by July 21, with terms agreed but not yet signed.

Zidane is expected to earn around €300,000 per month, excluding bonuses, which could raise his total monthly compensation to approximately €450,000. His coaching staff is projected to include over 25 members, bringing his annual salary to at least €3.6 million. This figure remains lower than the salaries of Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel, who coach other national teams. The federation is reportedly expanding its operations significantly, with Zidane emphasizing the importance of a strong female presence in his management team, particularly in the data analysis department.

This appointment will mark Zidane's first time coaching a national team, following his two separate tenures as Real Madrid's head coach. He has not coached since 2021. Zidane is renowned for leading France to victory in the 1998 World Cup as a player, and now he is set to return to the sidelines for the 2026 World Cup cycle.
