Former Senior Mossad Official Appointed Internal Auditor of Israel's Central Elections Committee
Shaul Stav, a former senior official of Mossad with over 30 years of service, has been unanimously appointed as the internal auditor of Israel's Central Elections Committee. Stav previously served as the chief internal auditor of Mossad for five years and was selected from a pool of eight candidates in a competitive tender process. This appointment comes amid recent turmoil within the Central Elections Committee, following the resignation of the previous internal auditor, Attorney Hila Waldman, who stepped down due to professional disagreements with then-committee CEO Attorney Orly Adess and concerns over attempts to limit audit oversight of the committee's operations. Stav's selection aims to restore confidence in the committee's internal oversight mechanisms.
