OpenAI Launches Codex Micro Macro Keyboard for AI Coding Users

OpenAI has introduced the Codex Micro, a compact macro keyboard developed in collaboration with Work Louder, designed specifically for users of the Codex coding AI agent. This device is not intended to replace a standard keyboard but to complement it by providing quick access to common AI-related functions such as approving changes, rejecting output, starting new conversations, and executing commands.

The Codex Micro features 13 mechanical keys with RGB lighting, each displaying the AI agent's real-time status including waiting, thinking, task completion, input required, or error encountered. It also includes a joystick for skill operation and a dial to adjust the AI agent's processing depth, ranging from quick tasks to more intensive analysis. The keyboard supports Bluetooth and USB-C connections and is officially compatible with both Mac and Windows systems.

Priced at $230, the total cost for customers in Israel, including shipping, customs, and taxes, is approximately 1,243 shekels. This product aims to streamline workflows for developers working with AI coding assistants by centralizing key functions in a dedicated device.
