Memorial Spring for Yehuda Shmuel Sherman Vandalized a Month After Opening in West Bank

About a month after its inauguration, the Yehuda Spring, dedicated to the memory of Yehuda Shmuel Sherman, was vandalized near the Shuva Israel farm in the West Bank. The damage, discovered early Wednesday morning, included severe harm to the spring's structure and infrastructure. Residents of the farm, including Daniel Sherman, Yehuda Shmuel's brother, found the site defaced with erased Star of David symbols and explicit graffiti, aimed at disabling the spring and deterring visitors. The community estimates significant financial damage and has already begun cleanup and restoration efforts, inviting public support to restore the site.

Daniel Sherman, a member of the "Returning Home" forum who was wounded in the attack that killed his brother, expressed deep pain over the destruction but vowed resilience. He stated that the enemy seeks to uproot them through terror and destruction, and emphasized that the true response is to end the Oslo Accords and expand construction and settlement in Area A to establish full sovereignty and security. Sherman described the spring as a symbol of life, connection to the land, and the beauty of the West Bank, affirming that despite the vandalism, the community will rebuild it stronger and more beautiful. He concluded that they will continue to bring light and growth in the face of darkness and destruction.
