Likud MK Dan Illouz Quits Party Primaries Citing Disillusionment

Dan Illouz, a member of the Knesset from the Likud party, officially announced that he will not run in the upcoming Likud primaries. Illouz stated that he cannot encourage the public to vote for a party he himself cannot support. He sharply criticized the party's response to the October 7 massacre, saying it was clear to everyone that Prime Minister Netanyahu should end his tenure after the current term. Illouz accused Likud of evading responsibility by removing the term "massacre" from legislation and blocking the establishment of a state inquiry committee. He emphasized that Jewish identity means taking responsibility first and foremost.
