Opposition Bloc Led by Eisenkot Gains Majority in New Israeli Poll
A Channel 13 poll published on Wednesday evening shows that if elections were held today, the opposition bloc, including the parties of Yoaz Hendel and Hili Tropper, would secure 61 Knesset seats, surpassing the coalition led by Benjamin Netanyahu, which would receive only 50 seats. Arab parties are projected to win 9 seats.
According to the poll, Netanyahu's Likud party remains steady with 22 seats. The "Yashar" party led by Benny Gantz (Eisenkot) is the second largest with 21 seats, a decline of 2 seats from the previous poll. Naftali Bennett's "Together" party would get 15 seats, the "Democrats" rise to 11 seats, and Yisrael Beiteinu holds 10 seats. United Torah Judaism stands at 8 seats, Shas and Otzma Yehudit each have 7 seats, Religious Zionism increases to 6 seats, Hadash-Ta'al has 5 seats, and Ra'am drops to 4 seats.
The Hendel-Tropper list crosses the electoral threshold for the first time, while Balad and Blue and White remain below it. Scenario tests of party mergers indicate that Benny Gantz, Dedi Simchi, Gilad Erdan, Ayelet Shaked, and Zeev Elkin, as well as Hendel and Tropper, would fail to pass the threshold in these cases. A merger of Hadash-Ta'al and Balad would yield 9 seats.
Regarding the Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi's warning letter about the detention law, 53% of respondents believe he fulfilled his duty, 29% view it as political interference, and 18% are unsure. On the government's performance after four years, 64% say it was not good for Israeli citizens, 28% say it was good, and 8% are undecided.
