Tottenham Holds the Cards as Fiorentina Seeks Discount on Solomon
The future of Manor Solomon remains uncertain. Reports in Italy say Fiorentina are interested in the Israeli winger, who was loaned to the club from Tottenham in the second half of the season, but at this stage they do not intend to activate the 10 million euro purchase option.
According to a report in Corriere dello Sport, which was also cited in England, officials in Florence believe Solomon is not worth the amount set in the loan agreement, despite several good appearances for the Viola. The club are prepared to enter negotiations with Tottenham, but only if the London side agree to lower their original asking price.
In Italy, the situation was described as follows: “The ball is now completely in Tottenham’s court.” In other words, Fiorentina have not closed the door on Solomon’s return, but the move depends mainly on whether the Spurs are willing to compromise on the price. At the same time, the Viola are already considering other options to strengthen the wings, including two Sassuolo players, Kristian Volpato and Armand Lauriente. If Fiorentina move ahead with one of them, the chances of Solomon staying in Florence could drop significantly.
Solomon’s agent, Gilad Katzav, did not rule out the possibility of Solomon returning to Fiorentina, despite the emotional farewell post he published at the end of the loan spell. However, Katzav admitted that from his point of view, the priority is for the Israeli to remain at Tottenham. In England, meanwhile, it is estimated that a real return for Solomon to Tottenham’s rotation seems rather unlikely at this stage. The 26-year-old Israeli has not played for the Spurs for a long time, and it appears his future now depends mainly on the club’s willingness to lower their demands.
