Nora Husaisi Elevates Traditional Druze Cuisine with Her Own Kosher Restaurant in Daliyat al-Karmel

Nora Husaisi, born in 1954 in the Druze village of Daliyat al-Karmel atop Mount Carmel, has dedicated her life to preserving and sharing authentic Druze culinary traditions. Raised under the close guidance of her mother, Tufha Husaisi, Nora mastered the ancient art of Druze cooking. She began her career as head cook at Elisha Hospital, where for ten years she aimed to aid patients' healing through her exceptional food.

From 1991 to 2001, Nora worked as a chef specializing in Druze cuisine at the Carmel Forest Hotel, where she met Chef Haim Cohen. Inspired by Cohen, she decided to open her own restaurant focused solely on Druze dishes. Since 2001, Nora has run "Nora's Kitchen," a kosher restaurant welcoming a broad clientele to enjoy her unique culinary creations.

Nora's Kitchen offers a warm, family-style atmosphere with authentic Druze dishes prepared daily by Nora herself. The venue accommodates special events for up to 250 guests, indoors or outdoors in a natural setting with a special tent. Additionally, the kitchen provides catering services, cooking workshops, and group hosting featuring Druze specialties. The restaurant holds Mehadrin kosher certification from Hatam Sofer.
