Maccabi Netanya Nears Deal to Loan Brazilian Defender Ze Marcos

Maccabi Netanya is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire Brazilian defender Ze Marcos on loan. The 28-year-old center-back, who previously played alongside Real Madrid's Eder Militao in Brazil's under-17 national team, could soon join the Israeli Premier League club coached by Ronny Levy. Ze Marcos stands 1.88 meters tall and began his career as a left-back before transitioning to central defense due to his physical attributes.

Currently, Ze Marcos is under contract with Vitória in Brazil's top division but spent the 2026 season on loan at Recife in the Brazilian second division. Earlier in his career, from 2017 to 2019, he was part of Red Star Belgrade, although he did not make any official appearances for their senior team. Notably, he captained Brazil's under-17 team, winning the continental championship alongside Militao.

If the deal is finalized, Ze Marcos will strengthen Maccabi Netanya's defensive line for the upcoming season. The club and player are reportedly close to completing the loan agreement, which would mark a significant addition to the Israeli club's roster.
