Haredi MKs Disclose Family Ties Affected by Draft Freeze Bill
During the Knesset debate on the bill to freeze arrests of Haredi draft evaders, Limor Son Har HaMelech called on Shas and United Torah Judaism MKs to disclose any personal connections. A disclosure document was presented stating, "We, the MKs from United Torah Judaism, declare that we also have children and grandchildren over 18, who may be affected by the provisions of the current bill." The signatories included MKs Yitzhak Goldknopf, Moshe Gafni, Meir Porush, Uri Maklev, Yaakov Tessler, Yaakov Asher, and Yitzhak Pindrus. Earlier, Knesset legal advisor Shagit Afik sent a letter urging Haredi MKs to declare any family members who are draft evaders that could benefit from the legislation.
