Maccabi Tel Aviv Celebrates 120 Years with Special Commemorative Gift Set

Maccabi Tel Aviv, Israel's largest and most successful multi-sport club, is marking its 120th anniversary by presenting a luxurious commemorative gift set to 120 key partners and friends from the sports, business, and public sectors. The gift set symbolizes the club's appreciation for the collaboration and dedication that have driven its long-standing success.

Recipients of the exclusive package include prominent figures such as Ron Huldai, Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo; Lior Shapira, Deputy Mayor and Sports Portfolio Holder; Ofir Vagman, Director of the Tel Aviv Sports Authority; Shimon Mizrahi, Chairman of Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club; Yigal Carmi, Chairman of Maccabi Israel; Naor Galili, CEO of Maccabi Israel; and Kinneret Tzedef Genratzky, CEO of the Hapoel Center.

The gift set features three specially designed items: an official yellow and blue Diadora jersey displaying five historic club emblems representing key eras from its founding to the present; a scarf combining the club’s colors and symbols to express pride and intergenerational connection among athletes, coaches, staff, and fans; and a gold medal engraved with the club’s historic and new 120th-anniversary logos alongside the motto, “To be Maccabi Tel Aviv is to be the biggest, the most beautiful, the most successful,” famously associated with late footballer Avi Cohen.

In remarks during a meeting with club chairman Doron Shetruk and CEO Lee On Israel, Mayor Huldai congratulated the club on its 120 years of excellence and expressed anticipation for seeing Maccabi athletes at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Deputy Mayor Shapira highlighted Maccabi’s integral role in Tel Aviv-Yafo’s identity and its impact beyond sports as a tool for education and community building.

Chairman Shetruk reflected on the club’s rich history of achievements, values, and community, emphasizing the essential role of partners who share the club’s commitment to sportsmanship and excellence. He thanked supporters for enabling Maccabi to nurture future generations of athletes and continue its legacy of success and inspiration for decades to come.
