Israeli Ototo Restaurants Launch Bluefin Tuna Specials for July
The bluefin tuna season has arrived along Israel's coast, inspiring chefs to create special dishes featuring this prized fish, known for its high market value and large size. Ototo, an Asian restaurant with locations in Rehovot and Gedera, is celebrating the season with a dedicated "Maguro" special menu available every Monday in July alongside their regular offerings.
The menu highlights include "Tuna on the Bone," served with a spoon to peel the meat off the bone, wrapped in seaweed with furikake, Japanese soy koji, wasabi, and lime, creating a unique hand roll experience priced at 79 shekels. Another popular dish is the "Triple Blue" (58 shekels), consisting of three inside-out rolls filled with akami, toro, spicy tuna, and avocado, topped with toro tuna and ponzu wasabi.
For sharing, the "Bluefin Collection" (89 shekels) offers a combination of chutoro sashimi, two akami nigiri, toro tuna bruschetta with Caesar sauce, and a soft-boiled egg. The menu varies weekly based on available ingredients and includes various tuna preparations with different toppings, sauces, and accompaniments.
Ototo invites tuna lovers to enjoy these dishes in a lively atmosphere with good music, available from 7 p.m. at their Rehovot branch on Eli Horowitz Street 4 and Gedera branch on Avraham Doron Street 1. This seasonal menu offers a rare chance to savor the luxurious flavors and textures of bluefin tuna in multiple creative forms.
