Journalist Clashes with MK Tali Gottlieb Over Criticism of IDF Chief of Staff

On Tuesday, Israeli MK Tali Gottlieb sharply criticized IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi following his remarks about the government's dangerous policies and a severe shortage of soldiers. Gottlieb wrote on social media that Kochavi had overstepped by entering the political arena and weakening the morale of soldiers and Israeli citizens. She called for his dismissal, stating, "I would fire you without hesitation, and it would be better sooner rather than later."

In response, journalist and presenter Barak Seri lashed out at Gottlieb, telling her to "sit quietly, insolent one," and questioned her authority, emphasizing that Kochavi is the military commander of the nation's soldiers and brothers. Seri accused Gottlieb of being a harmful presence who contributes nothing but destruction and urged her to leave politics.

Another commentator, Yaakov Bardugo, also criticized Gottlieb, bluntly stating, "You are confused, the event is over." The exchanges highlight the tension between political figures and military leadership amid ongoing debates about Israel's security and defense policies.
