Yotam Zamri Denies Drug Use Claims After Controversial TV Appearance
Yotam Zamri, a panelist on Channel 14's show "The Patriots," addressed the controversy following his appearance on the program aired Sunday night. Zamri denied rumors circulating online that he was under the influence of drugs during the broadcast. The uproar began after Zamri refused to condemn violent incidents where stones were thrown at the entrances of Channel 12 news studios and the Haaretz newspaper offices. During a confrontation with Avishai Ben Haim, who called for condemnation of all violence against media outlets, Zamri stated he did not intend to "play the game of condemnation and bowing the head."
Social media users also criticized Zamri's appearance and behavior during the show, suggesting he looked unwell and speculating about drug use. In a video response posted Monday, Zamri explained that he was sick, tired, and had briefly slept in his car before the show. He said he arrived late, was feeling unwell, and spent much of the program resting his head on the table. Zamri added that he slept for many hours the following day and was surprised to find numerous reports claiming he appeared "high" on air. He thanked those who trusted him but firmly denied being "high." Zamri concluded by saying he initially planned to take a day off but decided to respond after the accusations escalated.
