Kozmir Rebbe Urges Prayers for National Redemption During Grand Bris Celebration in Bnei Brak
On the morning of July 15, 2024, the Kozmir Rebbe held a joyous bris celebration for his grandson at his study hall on Rashi Street in Bnei Brak. During the festive meal, the Rebbe delivered a poignant speech reflecting on the somber period of Bein HaMetzarim (the Three Weeks of mourning) in which all of Israel currently finds itself. He called upon the assembled Hasidim to fervently pray for the salvation of the Jewish people and the ultimate redemption.
This event followed a significant ceremony the previous week, when Rabbi Meir Tzvi Bergman, head of the yeshiva and brother-in-law to the Alexander Rebbe, laid the cornerstone for a new study hall in Bnei Brak. Rabbi Bergman visited the construction site shortly before the event and bestowed his blessings for many years of Torah teaching to his esteemed relative.
In related Hasidic news, the Levite Rebbe leads daily heartfelt prayers at midday during the Three Weeks, mourning the destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem with traditional lamentations and tears. Meanwhile, the Kozmir Rebbe is currently resting in Davos, Switzerland, surrounded by breathtaking alpine scenery, where he studies Hasidic texts and dines with prominent rabbis including Rabbi Menachem Ernster of Vizhnitz and others.
Additional community celebrations include the engagement of the grandson of Rabbi Dov Ber Rabinowitz, a prominent Bayan Hasidic rabbi, in Beit Shemesh, and bar mitzvah festivities for the grandson of the Biala-Yisroel Rebbe in Bnei Brak, attended by numerous family rebbes and rabbis. The Lyalov Hasidic court also celebrated a bar mitzvah with enthusiastic singing led by their Rebbe.
These events highlight the vibrant spiritual life and communal solidarity among Hasidic groups in Israel and abroad during this reflective season, emphasizing prayer for redemption and continuity of Torah scholarship.
