Israeli Influencer Odeya Pinto and Actress Hani Nahmias Clash Over Cultural Differences on Reality Show
The Israeli reality show "Power Couple" has sparked a heated dispute between influencer Odeya Pinto and actress Hani Nahmias. Pinto admitted early in the show that she was unfamiliar with Nahmias and did not grow up watching the iconic children’s program "In Hani’s Room," citing her upbringing in a Haredi household. This cultural gap became evident when Nahmias realized Pinto had never heard of the play "Bustan Sfaradi," in which Nahmias stars. Pinto mistakenly compared it to "Bustan HaGalil," a different play near Acre, surprising Nahmias that Pinto, 26, had never attended the play.
The conflict escalated after the episode aired on Sunday, when Pinto posted a strong Instagram video defending herself. She emphasized that although she did not grow up with Nahmias’s cultural references, her parents taught her values of respect and kindness toward all people regardless of background. Pinto stated, "I was taught not to belittle others to feel bigger," and added, "My heroes are not your heroes."
Pinto’s post received significant support on social media, with many criticizing Nahmias. Nahmias responded with a sharp Instagram post the following day, sharing a private message exchange where she invited Pinto and her husband, Elior Sofer, to watch "Bustan Sfaradi." Nahmias claimed Pinto ignored the invitation. She wrote, "Odeya can keep shouting ‘condescension’ as a defense, but I mainly see curiosity about people raised very differently from me." Nahmias concluded with a pointed remark, "Manners were probably not part of the good upbringing they received at home."
This public feud highlights the cultural and social divides between the two women, fueled by their different backgrounds and experiences. The dispute remains unresolved as both continue to express their views publicly.
