US Launches Fourth Wave of Strikes on Iranian Targets This Week

The United States military conducted a new series of airstrikes against targets in Iran for the second consecutive night, marking the fourth such operation this week. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the attacks early Monday following reports of over ten explosions in the Iranian port cities of Bandar Abbas, Sirik, and on Qeshm Island. CENTCOM stated the strikes began at 17:00 Eastern Time with the objective of degrading Iran's ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The US military emphasized that the strikes were ordered by the President to hold Iranian forces accountable for their actions.

Iranian state media reported that one person was killed and four others injured in the strikes targeting a central water pumping station in Mahshahr, located in the southwestern Khuzestan province. This latest operation follows a third wave of US attacks announced Sunday morning, which targeted approximately 140 Iranian military sites using precision munitions launched from land-based and naval aircraft, drones, and naval vessels. The targeted sites included missile and drone facilities, naval capabilities, ammunition storage, communication networks, and coastal surveillance installations. The US stated these strikes were in response to Iranian attacks on commercial shipping in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

This escalation reflects ongoing tensions in the region, with the US aiming to deter Iran from threatening maritime traffic and regional stability. CENTCOM's statements underline the US commitment to holding Iran responsible for hostile actions against civilian maritime operations.
