Israeli Police Begin Sharing October 7 Attack Investigations With Bereaved Families

Nearly three years after the October 7 Hamas attack on Simchat Torah, the Israeli Police will start presenting the findings of their comprehensive investigations to the families of the fallen from Monday. The extensive inquiry, conducted over the past year under the directive of Police Commissioner Major General Danni Levi, examined all combat zones where police officers and fighters operated during the surprise assault. Senior officers led the investigative teams, gathering facts, analyzing findings, and reconstructing the battle scenes. The investigations were approved by senior police leadership and recently shared with the officers and fighters involved in the combat.

This next phase aims to honor the bravery of the fallen by sharing detailed accounts of their actions with their families. Concurrently, the police are finalizing broader investigations into the activities of all districts and departments during the October 7 events. Once completed, these findings will be used to implement lessons learned, enhance operational readiness, and strengthen cooperation with other security agencies. The police emphasized that throughout the investigations, the exceptional courage and determination of the officers and fighters were clearly evident, highlighting their role as the first line of defense who risked their lives to save others.
