He allegedly seeks to advance a unified leadership against Israel and maintains contacts with Hamas figures. Additionally, the report alleges Barghouti is influencing Israeli politics by engaging with Arab members of the Knesset, who reportedly sought his endorsement for forming a joint Arab party to increase electoral impact.

A senior IPS intelligence official described Barghouti as "a wolf in sheep's clothing," emphasizing that he does not need weapons to be dangerous because his power lies in his ability to influence and mobilize others. The official compared him to Yahya Sinwar but noted Barghouti is even more sophisticated. As of the article's publication, Barghouti's lawyer had not responded to the report's allegations.
