Woman Killed in Suspected Illegal Car Race on Highway 6, Fiancé Injured

Alia Ali Menad, a 20-year-old resident of Lod, died overnight in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 6 near Tayibe. She was expected to marry in the coming weeks. Her fiancé, who was in the car with her, was injured in the accident. Eyewitnesses reported that the crash occurred during a car race involving several drivers.

Emergency teams from Magen David Adom arrived at the scene and declared Menad dead. They also evacuated two injured individuals to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva and Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, with injuries classified as severe and moderate. Police traffic investigators from the Central District have opened an investigation into the fatal crash involving multiple vehicles.

A witness described the scene to ynet, saying the young drivers were speeding dangerously, resulting in collisions that caused cars to be thrown in different directions. Menad was ejected from the vehicle and fell into a nearby wadi. Despite attempts to assist her, she was found lifeless. The witness urged young drivers to avoid reckless speeding, emphasizing the tragic consequences of such behavior.

The emergency call was received at 00:32. Paramedics Daniel Giat and Sadah Badran reported finding Menad unconscious, without pulse or breathing, with severe injuries. Additional MDA teams treated and evacuated six more injured people, including a 21-year-old man in serious condition, a man in his 30s in moderate condition, and four others with minor injuries.
