Yisrael! party chairman MK Gadi Eizenkot responded today, Wednesday, to Likud's attack against him and to the mockery over his English. In an interview with Moran Azulai on ynet, Eizenkot addressed the fact that the post against him was circulated by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's adviser, Yonatan Urich, and said: "I despise that criminal, that person who harmed the security of the state. He should have been holed up in some bunker. He is a despicable person. In my view, a person like that does not belong in Israeli public life. What does that say about Netanyahu, what does that say about Likud, that such a despicable person is the one everyone there fears and who is leading them by the nose?"

Eizenkot continued: "And I ask myself, where was Netanyahu's excellent English on October 7? Did it help us in anything? It helped nothing. Where was his excellent English in strengthening Israel-US relations, which this morning are at a low point?"

The former chief of staff added: "I never boasted about excellent English. But I know how to speak, read and write, and I managed in many meetings. And as for the substance, this seems to me like the activity of weak people. They are frightened. I see their panic through the channels. On Channel 14 I am covered in every slot except the weather. I assume that will happen in the coming days, and I will be blamed for the June-July heat. If they knew me, they would know that this makes me even more stubborn. It makes me more determined, so they can continue."
