Former Fiorentina Defender Daniela Adani Recalls Unusual Welcome and Career Highlights

Daniela Adani, former Fiorentina and Italy national team defender and current RAI World Cup 2026 commentator, shared anecdotes about his early days at Fiorentina during the videocast "Gimme Five - La vita in classifica" hosted by Judy Caceto. Adani recounted arriving in Florence in the summer of 1999 and being surprised by an unconventional welcome at the Griffona Hotel, where a naked woman awaited him in his room as a team initiation. He described the encounter as a "perfect welcome" despite its unexpected nature.

Adani's 1999/2000 season with Fiorentina proved successful. After transferring from Brescia, where he played one Serie B season, he debuted in the UEFA Champions League and scored a goal. He quickly became a regular starter and was part of the Fiorentina squad that won the Italian Cup in the 2000/01 season. Following Fiorentina's bankruptcy in 2002, Adani moved to Inter Milan and earned five caps for the Italian national team during this period.
