Israeli Consulate Condemns Mayor Medani's Wife for Promoting False Narrative on Jesus
The Israeli Consulate in New York issued an official statement condemning Rama Dwaiji, wife of Zaharan Medani, the mayor of a city, following reports that she co-hosted a workshop supporting Palestinians in Corsica. The event honored Mary, mother of Jesus, as a "Palestinian woman who gave birth under occupation." The consulate described this portrayal as a historical distortion and a cynical attempt to use Jesus' story for contemporary political purposes. The statement emphasized that Jesus was Jewish, born in Judea to his Jewish mother Mary, and any suggestion that he was born to a Palestinian mother or was Muslim is historically inaccurate. The consulate accused the mayor's wife of promoting a false and dangerous narrative against Israel.
