Sheriff Tiraspol Draws Alumini, Next Maccabi Tel Aviv Rival Decided in Slovenia
In the ongoing European competition qualifiers on July 9, Sheriff Tiraspol and Alumini ended their first leg in Moldova with a 0-0 draw. This result means the winner who will face Maccabi Tel Aviv in the second qualifying round will be decided in the upcoming second leg in Slovenia. Meanwhile, Hungarian club Ferencváros, coached by Blazs Borbey who recently replaced Robi Kain, secured a 2-1 away victory against Serbian side Vojvodina. Ferencváros took an early lead in the 8th minute, Vojvodina equalized just before halftime at the 45th minute, but Ferencváros regained the lead in the 52nd minute through a goal by Yusuf, who skillfully curled the ball into the left corner after cutting in from the left wing. Ferencváros finished second in the Hungarian league last season, behind Győri ETO FC. The second leg between Sheriff and Alumini will determine who advances to face Maccabi Tel Aviv.
