Former US Security Adviser Says Iran Restored Half Its Missile Arsenal Amid Ongoing Conflict
Herbert Raymond McMaster, former US National Security Adviser, revealed in a CBS interview that Iran has managed to rebuild approximately 50% of its missile stockpile that existed before the US and Israel initiated hostilities. McMaster emphasized that the conflict is far from over and is currently entering a new phase rather than nearing an end. He described the situation as a continuation of the 47-year-long conflict with Iran, highlighting recent escalations between the US and Iran as part of this ongoing struggle.
McMaster, who served under President Trump, criticized the memorandum of understanding signed by Trump and his Iranian counterpart in mid-June as unsustainable due to significant gaps between the parties. He pointed out that Iran's main strategic goal is to control the Strait of Hormuz, believing it can gain an advantage over Gulf states and the US by doing so. According to McMaster, Iran aims to drive a wedge between the US and Gulf countries to maintain dominance over the Strait while rebuilding its missile and drone capabilities. He concluded that Iran is currently restoring about half of its missile arsenal from the start of the conflict.
