Mother Who Opposed Vaccines Charged with Murdering Her Twin Toddlers in Idaho

Andrea Shaw from Idaho, who previously opposed vaccinations and claimed flu shots caused the deaths of her 18-month-old twin children, is now charged with intentionally suffocating them to death. Shaw had publicly blamed the flu vaccines for her twins' deaths and was supported by the organization Children’s Health Defense, which promotes vaccine exemption and questions vaccine safety. This group interviewed her, raised over $11,000 through a crowdfunding campaign for her family, and included her as a plaintiff in a lawsuit against the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Court documents allege that Shaw caused her children's deaths due to a "postnatal blackout." In a past interview, Shaw said police investigators tried to convince her that she had suffocated her children, a claim she said made her feel "crazy." She is currently held on a $2 million bail and is prohibited from contacting minors, including her newborn infant born shortly before the charges were filed.
