London Woman Convicted for Violent Antisemitic Attack on Jewish Children and Father
A London court convicted a 39-year-old local woman for a violent antisemitic assault against Jewish children and their father outside a school in Stamford Hill. The incident occurred in the afternoon as a group of Jewish high school students waited outside after a school trip. The woman verbally harassed the children and their parents with antisemitic slurs, initially targeting a Jewish mother holding her baby.
The situation escalated when the woman aggressively approached the children, causing fear. A father intervened to protect the children, asking why she was targeting defenseless kids. In response, the woman violently attacked him, hitting his face and pulling his beard while shouting hateful and racist slogans. Police arrived quickly, arrested the suspect, and removed her from the scene.
Following a thorough investigation, the woman was charged and convicted on multiple counts including racially motivated assault causing actual bodily harm and using racist language to harass and distress. Senior prosecutor Raghvash Singh described the attack as "shocking and appalling," emphasizing that antisemitic violence is unacceptable and will be met with strict legal action.
Local police commanders highlighted the seriousness of the incident amid rising hate crimes, noting increased patrols and security measures around Jewish communities and sensitive educational institutions in London. The convicted woman’s sentencing is scheduled for July 24 at Thames Magistrates' Court.
