Justin Bieber Joins Historic 2026 World Cup Final Halftime Show in New York
For the first time in World Cup history, a halftime show will be held during the final match of the tournament. Justin Bieber was announced on July 9, 2026, as a headline performer alongside Madonna, Shakira, and BTS for the event scheduled on July 19 in New York. The 11-minute show is produced in collaboration with the Global Citizen organization and artistically directed by Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay.
In addition to the four main stars, performers will include Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 choir, members of Coldplay, and characters from The Muppets such as Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Bieber expressed gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting the World Cup's unique ability to unite the world and emphasizing the show's role in expanding educational access for children globally.
The halftime performance is part of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund campaign, which aims to raise $100 million to improve education and football access for children worldwide. So far, about $50 million has been raised, with one dollar from every World Cup ticket sold contributing to the fund. FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised Bieber's participation, stating the importance of education and the mission to provide quality education and football opportunities to children around the world.
