Ajax Coach Criticizes Oscar Gloukh for On-Field Mistake in Early Tenure

Mitchel, appointed as Ajax's head coach just over a month ago, is already making his presence felt by demanding higher standards from his players. According to a report by ESPN Netherlands, the Spanish coach reprimanded Israeli midfielder Oscar Gloukh during training, telling him, "This can't happen Oscar, show some character!" The criticism came after Gloukh failed to effectively press an opposing attacker who easily bypassed him, leading to a breach through the center of the pitch.

Gloukh joined Ajax last summer for a transfer fee of 15 million euros. Since then, he has played 38 matches, scoring nine goals and providing six assists. Notably, in 15 of those appearances, he came off the bench as a substitute. The coach's comments reflect a push for greater mental toughness and tactical discipline within the squad under his leadership.
