Construction Worker Critically Injured After Falling Through Roof at Hasidic Yeshiva in Netanya
A man in his 40s was critically injured after falling from an air conditioning shaft on the roof into a Hasidic yeshiva building undergoing renovations in Netanya. The incident occurred on Wednesday at the Tzanz yeshiva on Rabbi Saadia Gaon Street during extensive maintenance work. The worker lost consciousness immediately upon impact and was found unresponsive by bystanders.
United Hatzalah emergency responders from the central district arrived quickly and performed prolonged resuscitation efforts at the scene. Paramedics Abromi Yaakov, Elimelech Philip, and Ephraim Friedman reported initiating advanced life-saving procedures including chest compressions and ventilation. The man was urgently transported to Laniado Hospital, affiliated with the Tzanz community, while resuscitation continued en route. His condition remains critical as hospital trauma teams continue treatment.
The exact cause of the fall is still under investigation. Renovations have forced yeshiva students to relocate temporarily to another facility. Recently, Rabbi Yaakov Edess, a prominent spiritual leader, visited the yeshiva to offer support to the community following the passing of Rabbi Amos Guetta. Authorities are examining safety protocols related to the ongoing construction work at the site.
