Easy Turtle Cookie Recipe Offers Fun Summer Activity for Kids
As summer vacation begins, a simple and enjoyable baking activity for children has been shared by Yafit Shama. The recipe involves making colorful turtle-shaped cookies using basic ingredients like butter, powdered sugar, egg, flour, and baking powder, along with brown and green food coloring. The dough is divided into three parts, each colored differently, and shaped into turtles with four small balls for legs, a medium ball for the head, and a large ball for the shell. Stripes are marked on the shell with the back of a knife before chilling the cookies in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
The cookies are baked at 170 degrees Celsius for 10-15 minutes until done, then cooled completely. Melted chocolate is used to draw faces on the turtles with a toothpick, adding a fun finishing touch. This activity combines creativity, baking, and fun, making it ideal for summer holidays, birthdays, or family afternoons. The recipe is quick to prepare and provides a sweet, colorful treat that children enjoy making and eating.
