Mika Kanitz Joins Elitzur Holon Ahead of 2026/27 Season
Elitzur Holon, the reigning Israeli women's basketball league runners-up, continue to strengthen their roster for the 2026/27 season by signing 18-year-old guard Mika Kanitz. Kanitz, who stands 1.65 meters tall, is transferring from Gilboa Galil and has already officially joined Holon's squad.
Kanitz gained recognition during the summer of 2024 as the captain of Israel's U16 cadet national team at the European Championship, where she averaged 10.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.9 steals per game. She began her basketball career at Hapoel Emek Hefer before moving to the Wingate Academy in ninth grade to further her development, later relocating north for high school.
Her addition bolsters a team that already includes players such as Eden Rotberg, Tal Lev, Stasha Carey, Maya Almaliah, Adi Cohen, Mia Gdalia, and Maya Shalo. This signing follows several other notable acquisitions as Elitzur Holon prepares to compete for the championship once again.
