Israeli Medical Volunteers Treat 15 During Annual Pilgrimage at Givatayim Cemetery
During the past 24 hours, tens of thousands of people visited the tomb of the Shtapnesh Rebbe at the Nahalat Yitzhak Cemetery in Givatayim for the annual Hilula (commemoration day). The volunteer organization "Hatzalah" operated a comprehensive medical security system from Sunday afternoon until midnight between Monday and Tuesday. Paramedics and medics were deployed in foot patrols, rapid response vehicles, ambulances, and specialized equipment adapted for the cemetery's narrow passages to provide rapid medical assistance throughout the site.
During the event, Hatzalah teams provided first aid to approximately 15 individuals who required medical attention. Fortunately, none of the patients needed hospital evacuation, and no unusual incidents were reported throughout the operation. Avrumi Katz, a Hatzalah volunteer who led the security operation, stated, "As every year, we were privileged to provide medical security for the tens of thousands who came to the holy site on the Hilula day, in cooperation with the Givatayim Municipality and the Israel Police. By God's grace, no casualties required hospital transfer."
Hatzalah Chairman Asher Shlomovitz expressed gratitude to the many volunteers involved, emphasizing that close cooperation with the police and municipality ensured the safety of all pilgrims. He noted that volunteers secured the cemetery area for many hours, enabling safe access for worshippers from across Israel.
