Family Releases Tribute Video Honoring Fallen IDF Officer Captain Shahar Gamla

On the 30th anniversary of Captain Shahar Gamla's death, his family produced a special tribute video combining the songs "Yom Cholin" and "Shaarei Shamayim." The video features "Yom Cholin," with lyrics by Rachel Shapira and music by Yair Rozenblum, alongside "Shaarei Shamayim," composed by Pinchas Bichler. Captain Gamla served as an officer and combatant in the elite Egoz Reconnaissance Unit. His family described him as someone who grew up in the landscapes of the Golan Heights, carrying a deep love for the land and a strong sense of mission. He led his troops with humility, professionalism, and natural leadership throughout years of conflict. Captain Gamla fell at the foot of the Bofor outpost on the Sabbath of the "Shelach Lecha" Torah portion, on the 21st of Sivan, 5786 (June 2026). His family concluded their tribute with the words: "We love, miss, and salute you."
