Channel 14 Journalist Criticizes Israeli Supreme Court Amid Judicial-Political Conflict

Tamir Morg, a journalist for Channel 14, sharply criticized the Israeli Supreme Court (Bagatz) on Tuesday amid escalating tensions between the judiciary and the government coalition. Morg expressed astonishment at what he described as a fundamental misunderstanding by some serious figures regarding the role of the Supreme Court, emphasizing that the court is subject to the law rather than being the law itself. He called the situation a dangerous and sophisticated campaign of deception, fueled and sometimes created by cynical and superficial media that betrayed the public it is meant to serve.

Earlier the same day, Supreme Court justices issued a stern warning to government ministers, stating that those who fail to comply with court rulings could face personal civil lawsuits.
