Israeli Forces Rescue 10 Israelis Surrounded in West Bank City of Kalkilya
On Monday, Israeli security forces responded to a report of a disturbance involving four Israeli vehicles in the West Bank city of Kalkilya, located in Area A under Palestinian Authority control. Ten Israeli civilians had reportedly entered the city illegally to search for a motorcycle stolen from them the previous day in the city of Elad, which they believed had been taken to Kalkilya. Upon recognizing the Israelis, dozens of local residents gathered around the vehicles, attempting to separate and surround them.
Large forces from the Israel Border Police and the IDF's Panther Battalion were dispatched to the scene. They used crowd control measures to disperse the gathering and created a buffer zone to protect the civilians. The security personnel successfully evacuated all ten Israelis safely from the city for further investigation and care. Subsequently, the stolen motorcycle was located by the Border Police and returned to its lawful owners.
The Israeli security establishment reiterated that Israeli citizens are prohibited by law from entering Area A territories due to security risks. The IDF confirmed the incident, stating that upon receiving the report, forces quickly located the civilians and ensured their safe extraction from the area.
