A 39-year-old Moroccan football fan tragically died in Algeciras, Spain, after the flag she was wearing around her neck became entangled in the wheel of a motorcycle she was riding with her husband. The incident occurred shortly after Morocco's 3-0 victory over Canada, which secured the team's place in the World Cup quarterfinals for the second consecutive time. Emergency responders arrived to find the woman in cardiac arrest and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Local authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, which took place in the San Garcia neighborhood. The woman's husband underwent an alcohol test and was found fit to drive. José Ignacio Landaluce, the mayor of Algeciras, expressed deep shock over the tragedy and confirmed that support is being provided to the bereaved family, stating, "We stand by them in their time of mourning."
