Clashes and Illegal Fireworks Mar Morocco Victory Celebrations in Rahat

Following Morocco's win over Canada in the World Cup, celebrations in Rahat escalated into violence on Saturday. National Guard forces were called after reports of gunfire, but upon arrival, they found illegal fireworks and firecrackers being used to mark the victory. The situation deteriorated when stones were thrown at the security forces, leading to clashes and the arrest of five suspects for questioning.

In a related security operation, Israeli police discovered four stun grenades in a public garden near Rahat's community center several days earlier. A subsequent raid uncovered weapon parts, approximately 1,400 bullets, and cash. During another search in an open area, a Carlo-type firearm and a magazine were found concealed.

As part of the police's "Iron Net" operation, assisted by canine units, officers seized four boxes of ammunition containing 1,142 rounds of 5.56 mm and 230 rounds of 7.62 mm bullets. They also confiscated 18 M16 weapon mounts, three modified stun grenades, and seven rifle stocks. In a different neighborhood, 107 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, two M16 magazines, and a sight were seized. A 30-year-old Rahat resident was detained for questioning in connection with the findings.
