Trump Plans Crucial Meetings with Erdogan, Zelensky, and al-Julani at NATO Summit in Turkey

Ahead of the NATO summit in Turkey, US President Donald Trump is scheduled for a series of significant meetings, including with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and Syrian leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani. Trump is set to arrive on Tuesday, beginning with a meeting with Erdogan, followed by a discussion with al-Julani, and on Wednesday, a key meeting with Zelensky aimed at advancing efforts to end the ongoing war in Ukraine.

A senior US official told reporters that Trump intends to discuss with Zelensky ways to bring the conflict to a conclusion, noting that the battlefield in Ukraine has largely stagnated in recent months with no significant progress from either side. The official emphasized the president's urgent desire to resolve the war.

In addition to these diplomatic talks, Trump plans to deliver a clear message to NATO member states urging them to increase their defense spending. The US official indicated that Trump will convey this message personally during the summit, where new multi-billion-dollar defense deals are also expected to be announced.
