Communications Minister Karhi Criticizes President Herzog Over Supreme Court Obedience Debate

In an interview with ynet amid controversy over disobedience to the Supreme Court, Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi responded to criticism from President Isaac Herzog. Karhi cited former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, recalling Rabin's statement that he was not worried about Supreme Court judges because they would rule according to laws passed by the Knesset. Karhi noted that Herzog held public office at the time when such principles were standard, accusing him of changing his stance now. Karhi emphasized that they are not disregarding the law and questioned what citizens would think if the Supreme Court acted outside the law according to its own will. He challenged President Herzog to respond to this issue.
