Musician Idan Haviv Embraces Openness and Collaboration in New Album

Musician Idan Haviv appeared on the Kan News program "At Noon" on Sunday to discuss the release of his new single "And This Is Summer." Haviv revealed that his upcoming album marks a shift in his artistic approach, returning to a full album format after a period of releasing singles. He described this change as a move toward telling a complete story with a more direct and everyday style of writing, aiming for a closer connection to life and a more human, less obscure expression.

Haviv also addressed his use of stronger language in the new song, explaining that cursing is a natural and liberating part of life, and he sees no reason to exclude it from his music. Reflecting on the personal cost of fame, he noted that losing privacy removes a crucial layer of protection from the world, making him constantly aware of his behavior and speech, which influences his creative process.

On a personal note, Haviv shared his discomfort with holidays, preferring weekdays when life feels more normal and he can enjoy the beach freely. Regarding his affection for summer, he remarked that given current realities, having the luxury to choose a season is a privilege, and simply living each day is something to be grateful for.

The new album is expected to be released soon. The single "And This Is Summer" was co-written with Aviv Peretz and Dror Mizrahi, reflecting Haviv's new preference for collaborative songwriting.
