Journalist Ayala Hasson Threatens Legal Action Over Negative Portrayals of Her Reporting
Israeli journalist Ayala Hasson has publicly threatened legal action against anyone attempting to cast her journalistic work in a negative light. Speaking with Erez Tadmor on Galei Yisrael radio, Hasson defended her investigative report on the official residence expenses of former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett in Raanana. She emphasized that her report was thoroughly documented with receipts, official documents, and detailed Excel spreadsheets outlining every expense. Hasson highlighted the tangible outcomes of her investigation, noting that after Bennett's term ended, the entire official residence system was dismantled and Israel currently has no official prime ministerial residence.
Hasson also expressed frustration over the political labeling used to undermine her exposé, warning critics against exaggerating or disparaging her work. She specifically addressed accusations branding her reporting as a "poison machine," stating that anyone who crosses the line in disparaging her findings will face a lawsuit. This marks a firm stance by Hasson to protect her journalistic integrity and the factual basis of her investigations.
