Israeli Ministers and MKs Praise Yosef Weitzman’s New Book on Modern Debt Collection
This week, attorney Yosef Weitzman presented his latest book, "The Art of Collection," to several Israeli ministers and members of the Knesset during professional visits to their offices in the Knesset. The book, which has garnered significant attention in legal and business debt collection circles, was received by key figures including Justice Minister Yariv Levin, Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi, Economy Minister Nir Barkat, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, and Constitution Committee Chair MK Simcha Rothman.
Weitzman, who chairs the Enforcement Forum at the Israel Bar Association and lectures on insolvency and asset management, shared insights from his fourth book, which consolidates two decades of practical experience representing major financial institutions, insurance companies, and local authorities. The ministers and MKs expressed strong appreciation for the book’s comprehensive content and practical tools addressing Israel’s complex economic challenges, particularly in credit and debt management.
"The Art of Collection" introduces an advanced managerial and technological approach to debt handling in the modern era. It emphasizes that effective collection requires more than forceful measures, advocating for a broad strategy that integrates psychological understanding and cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence. The book covers all financial management stages, from credit structuring and debt prevention to complex bankruptcy proceedings. It also addresses recent technological shifts, such as identifying assets in digital wallets and cryptocurrencies, topics increasingly relevant in today’s economy.
A notable focus is placed on "soft collection" methods and pre-legal procedures, promoting amicable dispute resolution and cost savings by reducing unnecessary litigation and public system burdens. Released exactly ten years after Weitzman’s first acclaimed book, "Enforcement - Practice and Theory," which has been cited by Israel’s Supreme Court and other judicial authorities, this new work continues his professional legacy.
Weitzman thanked the ministers and MKs for their support, stating, "The world of collection changes daily. The book aims to equip business owners with the right tools to operate professionally and avoid costly management errors." The positive reception underscores the book’s role as a key resource for legal and financial professionals navigating Israel’s evolving economic landscape.
