Social Media Star Oudia Pinto Pledges Vote for Equality in Upcoming Israeli Elections

Oudia Pinto, a social media influencer from the northern Israeli moshav Alma, revealed her voting intentions ahead of the upcoming elections during an Instagram Q&A session. Pinto emphasized a clear red line guiding her decision: she will only vote for a candidate who guarantees equal treatment for children in all parts of Israel, stating, "I will vote only for someone who promises me that a child in Kiryat Shmona will be treated the same as a child in Tel Aviv." She expressed frustration with the current situation, saying, "I'm tired, and we don't deserve to live like this."

This is not Pinto's first outspoken comment on security issues. Last month, amid missile attacks from Iran, she posted a video expressing a controversial viewpoint. Pinto said she was glad that the missile threat had spread beyond the north to the entire country, not because she wanted everyone to suffer, but so that all Israelis would realize that no one is living in normal conditions. She insisted that cities like Tel Aviv, Haifa, Ramat Gan, and Petah Tikva should also feel the threat, not just northern residents.

Her remarks sparked criticism from followers who condemned her for appearing to welcome harm to civilians elsewhere. Pinto responded by clarifying that her desire is for peace and security, explaining that when Tel Aviv is threatened, everyone becomes aware and alert. She even controversially added that it would be "perfect" if Lebanon also fired missiles at Tel Aviv, as that would bring lasting calm to the north. Pinto stressed that northern residents seek long-term security, not just brief ceasefires.

Living in the north, Pinto feels protected in Tel Aviv but frustrated by the ongoing threats near her home. Her statements highlight the deep divisions and security concerns influencing voter sentiment in Israel's 2026 elections.
