Belarus National Team Defender Pavel Zabelin Joins Maccabi Kiryat Gat

Maccabi Kiryat Gat, newly promoted to Israel's National League, is set to strengthen its squad by signing Pavel Zabelin, a 31-year-old defender from the Belarus national team. Zabelin, who developed at Neman Grodno, has played for several clubs including Shakhtyor Soligorsk, Tobol, Sokol Saratov, and most recently made 27 appearances for Akritas Chlorakas in Cyprus last season. He has earned 13 caps and scored one goal for Belarus internationally.

This signing reflects a growing trend of experienced international players joining Israel's National League. Last season, Hapoel Rishon LeZion signed Eligijus Jankauskas, the Lithuanian league's top scorer. Now, Kiryat Gat is following suit by acquiring a national team defender, aiming to boost their competitiveness in the league.
