Marginalized Youth Attack Yeshiva Students in Rekhasim, Victims Fear Police Due to Draft Evasion

On Saturday night, marginalized youths violently attacked students at the Rekhasim yeshiva, throwing stones and heavy objects. According to testimonies from the students, some were physically beaten, but they refrained from calling the police out of fear of arrest for draft evasion. One student told Channel 13, "Our blood was spilled, they had knives at their waists, and I'm afraid to call the police." Another student described a fight outside the yeshiva after Shabbat, where youths threw stones toward the institution. One student was nearly hit by a large rock aimed at his head. When no police arrived, six youths assaulted another student, beating him severely until he bled. The victim is now hospitalized with a flashlight in his eye and injuries all over his body. The student expressed fear of seeking medical treatment due to his draft evader status and said, "We were afraid to call the police because everyone in the yeshiva is a draft evader. We feel exposed to life-threatening danger with no protection." Additionally, Channel 13 reported that a young Haredi man was severely beaten in Kfar Hassidim but also avoided police involvement due to similar fears of arrest for draft evasion.
