Putin and Trump Hold Lengthy Phone Call Discussing Ukraine Conflict Resolution
Yuri Ushkov, senior advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, revealed that Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump spoke by phone for one hour and 25 minutes. The conversation took place ahead of the upcoming NATO summit and was described by Ushkov as "businesslike and constructive." During the call, Trump offered to assist in reaching a settlement in the conflict with Ukraine. Ushkov noted that Putin provided Trump with an "accurate assessment" of the battlefield situation. Additionally, Ushkov mentioned that special envoys Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner continue to support peace efforts and are prepared to visit Moscow.
